PS-85 displays highly Oleophilic and Hydrophobic properties. The photo above shows water droplets remaining whole on top of the media and the oil absorbed into the media.
In cooperation with Enhydra Ltd. we can supply proprietary oil absorption media PS-85. This is the world’s leading granular oil absorption media for the removal of dispersed, emulsified and dissolved hydrocarbons from oily water systems, outperforming GAC/Granular Activated Carbon. PS-85 is a patented non-swelling organoclay granular media that removes hydrocarbons from water by means of chemisorption. It is specifically designed for total petroleum hydrocarbon removal, including amongst many substances, Phenols, PAH and BTEX and is ideally suited to the removal of emulsions.
Features and Benefits:
• Reduces TPH or oil & grease levels up to 99%, or below 1 ppm
• Elimination of treatment chemicals
• Chemically bonded – no release once absorbed
• Up to ten times more hydrocarbon holding capacity than GAC
• Reduced maintenance
• Low operating costs
• Proven to meet IMO MEPC 107(49) and EPA discharge limits
Key Applications:
The Oil absorption media can be applied for gas condensate deoiling and also as a final polishing stage downstream of Primary and Secondary OWS systems such as API, CPI, Hydrocyclones and IGF/DGF units. PS-85 may be also installed downstream (or in lieu of) walnut shell filters and upstream of activated carbon units. Units are commonly designed to remove hydrocarbons to less than 5ppm.
Depending upon the application this versatile media is incorporated in to multi-tonne bulk beds or in high performance cartridge filter elements.
