Nutshell filters have very good performance in removing oil and suspended solids from produced water, refinery wastewater or any water source. Our know-how in nutshell filter design incorporates the best features of conventional dual-media filters and deep bed nutshell filters to achieve the best practical removal efficiency for both oil and suspended solids in one filter. This high efficiency design technology is capable of removing solids particles >2 microns and oil to less than 5 ppm Oil in Water.

PSA offer both traditional and latest generation of nutshell filter designs. Our filter designs do not rely on complex mechanical back flushing system, thereby providing a more reliable and cost effective solution for oil and solids removal. With our Nutshell Filters, the media is effectively backwashed as a result of a proper fluidization of the filter bed by a high flow of bachwash water and scouring gas. The backwash water and scour gas are injected into the filter media through specially designed distributors.
