ILMED Seawater Automatic Coarse Filter. (240 m3/h and 100 microns filtration efficiency)
The objective of this filter is to remove coarse suspended debris and solids that could deposit on process equipment creating scale and corrosion sites.
Filtration with coarse filters can typically range from less than 50 microns to 2000 microns, in regard of particles removal, and up to 10,000 m3/h as the filtration capacity. Filter cleaning is accomplished using automatic backwashing, and is required when the differential pressure on the unit increases to the point of maximum or the flow becomes too restricted. Many units limit backwash volume and can be cleaned on-line.
Coarse Filters are supplied as fully automatic backflush filters (also called backwash filters or self-cleaning strainers) and are used to filter all liquids, where the mechanical removal of impurities is required. The filtering elements are cleaned automatically by means of back washing with the same filtered fluid, without interruption of fluid flow.
These filters can be used in many applications to filter liquids; such as sea water, river and lake water, fuel oil, kerosene, gasoil, lean amine etc. and are specially suited to cooling plant for steel works, foundries, rolling mills, electric power stations, refineries and petrochemical plants.
